YDive is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC). In order to be a full diving member of YDive, you must join BSAC, and therefore pay both BSAC Club and YDive branch subscriptions.
Divers who have been trained by other organizations, such as PADI, NAUI etc., are more than welcome to join YDive. Existing qualifications are recognised by BSAC, and after successful completion of assessments of their skills and theory test for the relevant BSAC diver grade, a Certificate of Alternative Training is awarded for the equivalent BSAC qualification.
BSAC Membership Rates
BSAC membership rates vary depending on the qualification level of the diver. For a guideline on the rates see the table below. For the BSAC membership fee you get full membership of BSAC with voting powers, third party insurance of £5 million, and a free copy of "Dive" magazine, arguably the best monthly dive magazine around. The minimum age for SCUBA membership of BSAC is 12 years. There is no upper age limit for BSAC membership.
After joining BSAC you need to join a BSAC Branch to allow dive training to be carried out.

YDive Membership Rates
YDive membership is HK$100 per month. 10% discount is given for upfront payment for the year.
YDive Membership entitles members to diver training (BSAC system) at club rates, diving, hire of YDive equipment and use of the YDive club boats at club rates. Other benefits include discounts on equipment purchases in many of the dive shops in Hong Kong (including Mandarin Divers and Pro-dive) and a regular social scene with 20% discount outside happy hours at our club bar, "The Bridge" located in Lockhart Road, Wan Chai... plus the t-shirt.
If you are already a qualified BSAC diver you may come along on a dive before committing to join the club.
BSAC has recently lowered the minimum age for SCUBA membership to 12 years. Persons aged between 12 and 17 can only become a member of YDive if a parent, or entrusted guardian is a YDive member.

The YDive Membership Form and BSAC membership application forms can be completed with you by the membership secretary at the Club Meeting held in The Bridge, Lockhart Road, Wanchai on Thursday's from 7:30pm.
Whilst diving is not a sport requiring a high degree of physical fitness, it is necessary to be reasonable fit and to be confident in the water. When joining BSAC you must also complete a BSAC Self-Declaration Medical Form declaring themselves fit to dive.
